Vikki Myddelton

Principal
Vikki started dancing at the age of 4, learning ballet, tap and acro and later modern theatre. She trained with Penny Meekings and qualified as an ISTD Modern Theatre and Tap teacher in 1992. Vikki holds a licentiate qualification in tap.
Vikki has produced and directed many drama productions and school shows over the years at Splitz and enjoys creating scripts and developing ideas for these.
Vikki runs the school with Jackie and continues to enjoy teaching modern, tap and drama classes at Splitz!
Jackie Styles
F.I.S.T.D. and Examiner
Principal
Jackie began her training in ballet, modern and tap with Penny Meekings. She went on to study classical ballet at West Street School in London and later the Imperial Ballet syllabus with Elizabeth Harrison.
Jackie holds the Certificate in Dance Education in Cecchetti Ballet and Modern Theatre, and Advanced and Fellowship qualifications in Imperial Ballet. In 2005 she was appointed as an Imperial Ballet Examiner and is the Lead Lecturer for the faculty. She is a member of the ICB committee and her Examining work covers the whole of the UK, as well as International tours.
Jackie trains teachers for DDE ballet, Licentiate and Fellowship qualifications. She teaches freelance at several colleges and works on the audition panel at Performers College for the Degree Course.
Gemma Nash
L.I.S.T.D.
Gemma began dancing at the age of 5. As a child she trained in ballroom, latin, disco, ballet, tap and line dancing. She went to The Dance College with Penny Meekings where she gained her teaching qualifications in imperial ballet, tap, modern and national along with vocational exams in the same genres. Gemma holds a licentiate qualification in ISTD tap.
She has performed at Sadlers Wells, The Mermaid, The Bridewell and Her Majesty’s Theatre. She was a showgirl in “Swing from the Apple” with muffintop entertainment from 2008 – 2015.
Gemma joined the teaching staff at Splitz in 2009 and teaches ballet, tap and modern.
Louise Davis
L.I.S.T.D.
Louise started her training at the age of 14 at Splitz School of Dance and Drama and went on to a 3 year performing arts diploma at NLDS/DNA Studios, before completing her ISTD teaching qualifications in Imperial Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap at The Dance College. She has since furthered her teaching qualifications by attaining her Licentiate status in ISTD Tap and Modern Theatre.
Louise also teaches Contemporary, Street, Acro and aerial hoop. She has competed at advanced level in international competitions on hoop and enjoys passing on this skill by teaching aerial hoop workshops.
Emma Gilby
Emma began her training with Splitz at the age of 3 and has since trained to intermediate level in modern, tap and ballet as well as taking classes in street dance and contemporary. She is currently studying for her Diploma in Dance Education in modern and tap.
As a child she performed in many local productions, including eight Splitz productions and panto as well as variety performances at the Phoenix theatre in London’s West End.
She has a particular interest in teaching dance to students with additional needs and has spent two summers in America, teaching children and adults with learning disabilities .
Zaynah Ahmed
Zaynah has always had a passion for performing arts and has danced since the age of 7. She joined Splitz at the age of 15 and went on to train at Emil Dale Academy and then Urdang Academy achieving a First Class BA (hons) in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre. Since then, Zaynah has danced in 2 feature films and most recently appeared in ‘Hex’ at the National Theatre.
Zaynah teaches musical theatre and street dance at Splitz and aims to provide an encouraging and fun environment so students can reach their full potential.
Sophia Mays
BA (Hons), LISTD, PGCE, RYT
Sophia has worked in the dance industry for over 20 years. She trained at The Laban Centre and Middlesex University, gaining a degree in Dance Performance with her specialist subject being contemporary dance. She went on to work internationally as a professional dancer, dance captain and choreographer in a variety of venues and genres.
Sophia trained as a teacher at The Dance College and Bedfordshire University gaining Licentiate ISTD Modern Theatre, CDE Imperial Ballet, Tap, National and PGCE in Secondary Dance. She has since gained Licentiate ISTD Imperial Ballet.
Sophia has enjoyed transferring her love for dance in a number of secondary schools, further education colleges and professional vocational training colleges. She is also a fully qualified Power/Vinyasa Flow Yoga teacher. Sophia teaches ISTD Contemporary at Splitz and is an examiner for the ISTD Contemporary syllabus.
Emily Norman
BA (Hons)
Emily has always had a passion and enthusiasm for the arts, ever since starting dance when she was 4 years old at Splitz School of Dance. She continued with her vocational training at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and The School of Ballet Theatre UK, where she achieved a First Class BA Honours Degree in Ballet Performance. Emily has performed with English National Ballet as well as Ballet Theatre UK’s touring company in iconic ballets such as, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
On graduating, Emily was appointed the position of Associate Choreographer to the Artistic Director of Ballet Theatre UK. Her unique choreographic style was featured at The School of BTUK’s Showcase, where she achieved critical acclaim in the Dancing Times, as well as national and international events and competitions such as Move It and Tanzolymp, where several of her pieces won First Place. Emily continued her career with The School of BTUK becoming the Contemporary, Choreography and Classical Conditioning teacher to their degree students.
Currently, Emily is teaching dance at Morgan’s Primary School, helping children express themselves through dance and promote well being through exercise and music. Emily is also studying for her DDE with The ISTD, to become an affiliated teacher of Contemporary and Classical Ballet.
